A Day at the Lawn and Garden Show

Well, I rarely include more than one photo from my daily adventures, but this place is just too wacky to believe without seeing! I'm back in Nashville this week to visit Gram and Pop, and they took me to the Lawn and Garden Show at the fairgrounds. I went last year too, but I slept through most of it because I was just a wee babe back then.

As always, I wear my John Deere hat to blend in with the locals. Gram bought me this cool t-shirt at Cracker Barrel to go with it. The guys in the tractor booth must have thought I was some sort of company rep, given my uniform, and they let me sit in all the different tractors and mowers for a test drive. Pretty cool! They gave me a brochure to look through showing all the models so that I can pick out which one I want Pop to get me next time I visit....

Bad Ducky!

Around the corner from the tractors were a bunch of duckies in the Garr's Feed booth. The nice lady there took this one out so that I could pet him. He was soft and sweet at first--totally unlike Waldo the evil crow in the Wildlife Rehab booth that cawed at me when I touched his cage and made me cry--but that's another story, and I don't hold grudges. (Heck, I don't even remember it an hour later!)

Suddenly the cute ducky turned mean and bit my finger. Ouch! I tried to tell him that the duckies in my board books never do such things. They are always yellow in books, so maybe the black ones are evil. Kinda like how the bad guys in cowboy movies always wear black hats.

Those Dogs Have Their Own Stroller!!!

Okay, I see some weird things go by when I'm out for walks in the city, but this takes the cake. Those doggies have their own stroller! And notice how it's alot nicer than mine! It has a basket and a coffee-holder and everything (not that I need a coffee-holder, but Mommy seems to like them)!

The chihuahua is named Miss Molly and the Yorkie is Skipper. Miss Molly got awfully close to my snack trap. Apparently they don't have Cheerios in their fancy stroller. Ha! They don't get to come out and run around either because DOGS AREN'T ALLOWED at the Lawn and Garden Show. They won't be bitten by duckies, or ride on tractors either.

Magic Fountain

Today is Mommy's birthday! Happy Birthday Mommy! We celebrated by walking down to the Conservatory to look at the beautiful flowers. Mommy liked the orchids best, but I liked this fountain. I got soaked playing in it! See how I'm standing up? I'm going to walk any day now. I can do lots of new things. I can even take my shoes off by myself, and I did! I dropped the right one down the hole for the fountain's water return. Mommy panicked because she just bought these shoes yesterday! Ha ha ha Mommy! Happy Birthday!!!

(Update: Mommy reached her hand down the return and rescued my soggy shoe.)

The Last Conversation

Hey, what are you guys talking about? I want to listen in! Oh well, even if I could hear them, I'm sure they're speaking Spanish. They are part of "The Last Conversation" by Spanish sculptor Juan Munoz. I told them I am part of "The Babies that Rule the Universe" by Mommy and Daddy.

I spent the whole day taking in Art. Mommy and Aunt Lori took me to see the new video installation called "Dreams" at the Hirschorn. I saw most of it, but crazy Mommy covered my eyes a couple of times and I missed a few of the exhibits. I highly recommend it for babies, especially the neat beam of light and smoke. I must have run my fingers through that a hundred times. But don't go if you are afraid of the dark. Art is not for the faint of heart...

The Eaters and Sleepers Take Over

The weather this week has been so nice that Mommy takes me to the fun playground all the time! Today I met the other Eaters and Sleepers here. We gathered on the big slide platform and took the place over. Don't you even try to come up here! We own this spot, and we are going to eat blueberries and cheese cubes here for as long as we like! Most of our group was in attendence, but in this picture you can see Ben and Elle next to me.

Tubin'

I am getting complaints from my readers that the posts aren't coming in often enough. Sorry, people! I have alot to do, you know, with learning to walk and talk and play with new stuff. I'm keeping Mommy very busy meeting all my demands, and she's been slacking off on the technical stuff she does to help me with this blog. I'll try to make her work harder so you guys can stay up to date on my adventures.

Anyway, Anderson and I have playdates now each Tuesday. We alternate houses, and this week he came to mine. I decided to take him to the cool playground near my house to show him the Magic Tube. He'd never seen anything like it before and didn't know what to say. Okay, he did say "Gleahga-blegh," but even I can't translate that and I speak Baby. But I think he liked it.
